The Amazighs of all the countries of Tamazgha and of the Diaspora solemnly adopted their flag, on 18 ?uct 2947 corresponding to August 30, 1997, during the 1st General Congress of the CMA, held in the locality of Tafira in the island of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Archipelago.
Since then, this unifying emblem of Amazighs, from Siwa to Canary Islands has been proudly worn on all occasions: ceremonies, celebrations, cultural and political activities, public events, etc. It symbolizes and expresses not only Tamazgha (the land of the Amazighs) but also the identity, unity, resistance and struggle of the Amazighs for their fundamental rights and their profound aspiration to live free and dignified lives.
The Amazigh World Congress decided several years ago to consecrate the 18th ?uct or August 30th of each year as "Amazigh Flag Day".
It asks all Amazighs, individuals, associations, public and private institutions, to express, each in their own way, their respect and attachment to their emblem.
On the occasion of this 23rd anniversary of our flag, let's carry it in public squares, hoist it on our balconies, highlight it on the facades of municipalities and on storefronts, and organize ceremonies to glorify it.
Everyone must be imaginative and creative to honour our flag. Mounir El-Haddadi, a soccer player from Seville, Spain, chose to celebrate his team's victory in the European Cup last Friday by waving the Amazigh flag. The CMA warmly salutes the chivalrous gesture of this young Amazigh who highlights the emblem of his roots.

The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (UN-WGAD), after examining the complaints of abduction, unlawful confinement and arbitrary detention of Kamira Nait Sid on 24 August 2021 in Algeria, filed by the CMA and Riposte Internationale and following the answers to the questions put by the UN-WGAD to the Algerian government, the UN-WGAD ruled on 1/04/2022 that :
On 21 March 2021, in the commune of Tillia, in the Azawagh region of western Niger, near the border with Mali, around 100 armed men on motorbikes attacked the Tuareg villages of Intazayene, Bakorat and Wistane, killing 137 people 
Every winter, the Amazighs who live in the Atlas Mountains know that they will have to pay the highest price because they are the forgotten people of Morocco. This year again at the beginning of January 2021, a pregnant woman died in Imilchil, in the High Atlas, for lack of help and care.
For the second time in less than a year, the Kabyles refused almost unanimously to participate in a vote organised by the Algerian government. The first time was during the Algerian "presidential election" on 12 December 2019 and the second time was on 1 last November for the referendum on the revision of the Constitution.

To date, there are still about twenty Rifain political prisoners in Morocco, notably in the penitentiaries of Fez, Guercif, Selouane and Bouarfa. They were arrested in the spring of 2017 and sentenced in unfair trials for their participation in peaceful popular demonstrations of a social nature in 2016 and 2017. These had broken out following the death of the young fish merchant 
In a letter sent by the World Amazigh Congress to HM King Mohamed VI, the CMA calls for the Moroccan government and parliament to be immediately removed from their functions for having seriously and irresponsibly violated the country's Constitution. which enshrines "Tamazight official language" by passing the law n ° 04.20 which excludes Tamazight from the new national electronic identity card which is clearly outlawed since it is unconstitutional and it directly contradicts the organic law n ° 26-16 of 12/09/2019. 
On 30 July 2020, on the occasion of the "Throne Day", around twenty Rifain political prisoners, arbitrarily detained for more than three years in Moroccan prisons, were granted a "royal pardon" and released. 
On 12 March, the Moroccan government adopted draft law No. 04.20 on the new national electronic identity card, which provides for this document to be drawn up in two languages, Arabic and French. The Amazigh language is excluded from the new identity document, despite its status as an official language and despite Organic Law No. 26-16 of 12/09/2019 and in particular its Article 21 which states that "will be written in Amazigh language, alongside the Arabic language, the information contained in the following official documents:
Mr. Head of Government, On 12 March this year, your government approved draft law No. 04.20 on the new national electronic identity card (CNIE). This bill was then transmitted to the House of Representatives on 3 June with a view to its adoption.
